Questions about tender tracking.
What do we need in the tender for tracking?
A Peplink or Pepwave router, which most tenders already carry. Nothing else is fitted.
How up to date are the tender positions?
The router reports every 2 seconds, and the app fetches every 10 seconds to 5 minutes. A Class B AIS set reports every 30 seconds.
Can we track our tenders with AIS switched off?
Yes. Tender Tracker doesn’t use AIS, and positions stay with your vessel.
Does Tender Tracker work on Android?
Yes, Android crew get the alerts. The lock screen Live Activity is iPhone only.
Who sets the alert distances?
The Head of Department sets both the inner and outer distance from the ship.
Does Tender Tracker cover towing?
No. It tracks position only and is not a tow-protection system.
